Ministry of Agriculture hands over cool storage unit to Indian Church farmers

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the Ministry of Agriculture held a handing over ceremony for a Renewable Energy System for a Cool Storage unit.

The donation was made possible through the “Enabling Gender-Responsive Disaster Recovery, Climate and Environmental Resilience in the Caribbean (EnGenDER)” program.

Minister of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise handed over the unit to Indian Church farmers.

The event comes under a pilot project that was initiated by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

In addition, the Ministry handed over a root crop washer to the  New River Farmers Cooperative in San Carlos.

This event was successful under the UNDP GEF Small Grants Program, BEST and the Department of Cooperative.

The machine was constructed locally under the guide and direction of Reimers feed Mill.
