BREAKING: Kareem Martinez found guilty of manslaughter in Laddie Gillett case

By Aaron Humes, Belmopan: High Court Justice Antoinette Moore has found Kareem Martinez, former Corporal of Police, guilty of the crime of manslaughter of Laddie Gillett.

Justice Moore said she was convinced particularly that Martinez shot Laddie on July 14, 2021 on the beach in Placencia, and no one else; and that he had no lawful justification to do so.

Defense counsel Oscar Selgado has already indicated he plans an appeal.
