Ten teams compete in San Pedro’s basketball tournaments which go into Week 2 on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Ten teams are competing in San Pedro basketball tournaments that started last Sunday. Organized by the San Pedro Town Council Sports (SPTCS) and the San Pedro Basketball Association the competitions are in the Under-19 and Open (19 and up) categories.

This coming Sunday at the Angel Nuñez Auditorium, the Tiger Sharks will face the Stingrayz in the U-19 at 5:00 pm.

The Tarpon Trappers will take on the Island Ballers in the Open Tournament and Tuff E Nuff will close the evening against the Under Dogs in the Open championship.

In the opener last Sunday, the Caye Caulker Stingrayz won over the San Pedro High School 47-31 in the Under 19.

In the Open tournament, Tuff E Nuff outplayed the San Pedro Town Council 62-52 while the Under Dogs slipped past the Palapa Boyz 75-70.
