By Breaking Belize News Staff: Warm temperatures and dry conditions prevail. The National Meteorological Service’s 24-hour forecast is for mostly sunny skies today with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. No rainfall is expected except for isolated thunderstorms over the Maya Mountains this afternoon and evening.
Temperatures will reach highs of 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 98 degrees over inland areas and 90 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect and residents, particularly of inland areas, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities as much as possible, especially during the afternoon.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to 15 knots and sea state is light chop.
Tides will be high at 12:49 this afternoon and low at 8:59 this evening. The sun sets at 6:11 this evening and rises at 5:30 Wednesday morning.
Similar weather conditions should be expected on Wednesday.
