Men charged with shooting of Jervis Valencia remanded to prison

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The two men charged in connection with the shooting of Jervis “Diamond” Valencia, have been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

On Monday, 25-year-old Lyndon St. Claire and 23-year-old, Kareem Kelly were arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

St. Claire was charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of use of deadly means of harm, and one count of dangerous harm, while Kelly was charged with a single count of abetment to commit murder.

Since the charges involve the use of a firearm, bail could not be offered at the Magistrate level, and both men were remanded until June 23.

Valencia was shot to the foot on April 19 and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was treated and subsequently released.
