One person detained as Chinese shopkeeper robbed in Corozal Town

By Aaron Humes: Police have nabbed a Corozal man suspected of committing a robbery in town this morning.

Shopkeeper Weishi Liu, 61, of Sixth Avenue, reported that at about 11:36 am while he was inside his store behind the counter, a clear-skinned man dressed in a blue long-sleeve shirt, blue long jeans pants, and wearing a pair of white tennis entered the store and took out what resembles a firearm and pointed it at him and demanded money.

The alleged robber then went behind the counter, took out about $350 from the drawer, exited the shop, and rode off on a bicycle.

Police have detained a sole suspect and the matter is currently being investigated.
