Football Federation of Belize announces international referee assignments for Belizean referees

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Football Federation of Belize (FFB) announced on Friday that three Belizean referees, namely Eugene Contreras, Efren Guy, and David Henry Jones, have received international assignments.

“We are delighted to announce that our Referee Director, Mr. Eugene Contreras, and Referee Efren Guy have been assigned important roles in the upcoming 2023 UNCAF FIFA Forward Boys tournament,” the FFB said in a statement posted on social media.

Contreras is a referee assessor at the 2023 Under-15 Central American Football Union (Uncaf) Boys FIFA Forward Championship which started in Costa Rica on Friday and in which Belize is participating. Guy is performing duties as a referee at the same tournament.

“Furthermore, we are proud to share that our organization is being represented in Toluca, Mexico, by Mr. David Jones, who is currently attending the FUTURO 111 Referee Instructor Course.”

The FFB said the football governing body is committed to promoting the growth and development of football at all levels.

“We are thrilled that our employees are being recognized with increased international assignments, and we applaud these gentlemen for their outstanding work. Join us in congratulating them on their accomplishments,” the FFB said.
