By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Stann Creek’s St Alphonsus of Seine Bight won the Girls National Primary Schools Basketball Championship on Friday at the Russel ‘Chiste’ Garcia Auditorium in Dangriga.
St Alphonsus triumphed 18-10 over Orange Walk’s Louisiana Government School in the championship.
St Alphonsus’ Jolene Aranda was named Most Valuable Player.
Cayo’s Santa Elena Primary School finished third on a 11-7 win over the Belize District’s Island Academy.
The Girls National Primary Schools Basketball Championship was organized by the National Sports Council.
