Murder victim Adrian Pook was accused of killing as a teenager; a decade later, someone waited to kill him

By Aaron Humes: Along with his brothers Michael and Ryan, Adrian Pook, 29, was accused of the murder of taxi operator Errol “Lighta” Ferguson, only to see the charges dropped when no judgment was forthcoming from the High Court.

Adrian, a minor at the time, was jointly charged with the murder which took place on May 5, 2011. The men were accused of ambushing and chopping and stabbing Ferguson and in the case of Michael Pook, of damaging his vehicle. But the presiding judge failed to issue a judgment and the court hearing the case in 2015 determined that it would not be fair to try the trio again when they had already faced their peers once.

From our records, it appeared Adrian Pook stayed out of trouble since – but trouble found him on Sunday morning, April 30, when in what can only be described as a startling coincidence, his alleged killer lay in wait for him as he was walking on Ordonez Avenue.

Moments after the shooting, residents and family members of the victim sprang into action and captured the suspected killer; according to police, he was stripped of his firearm, beaten and handed over to the Police who then transported him to the hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.
