Two teenagers charged for murder of Shamar Cabral

By Aaron Humes: Police tonight have announced the arrest of and charges against two minors of Belize City in relation to Thursday’s murder of Shamar Cabral of Independence Village.

The boys, 16 and 17 respectively, were charged this evening after Cabral, who was in the City visiting friends and family, was robbed of his motorcycle and shot dead for good measure after a verbal confrontation with his killers.

Initial investigation revealed that, at about 1:30 p.m., Cabral visited a friend on Balan Street, and whilst parking his cycle, he was approached by four male persons, one of who grabbed him, whilst another pulled out a knife and attempted to stab him.

Cabral tried to walk away after the group who confronted him told him his bike was now theirs, but one of them armed with a firearm still ended his life.
