By Breaking Belize News Staff: Taevon Castillo, who has repeatedly been charged with scamming people on Facebook, has been sentenced to a year at the Belize Central Prison.

Castillo picked up his fourth conviction for crimes of dishonesty last week after pleading guilty to a single count of obtaining property by deception.

Castillo had reportedly conned a San Ignacio businessman out of $9,000 for two containers he purported to be selling through Facebook. The businessman told police he deposited the required amount on April 20, but on April 26 he visited the police after he did not receive what was promised in the arrangement.

Castillo’s first three convictions all ended with fines; however, he reportedly did not make any effort to pay any of them off.
