By Breaking Belize News: Three men accused of stealing a man’s grocery bag from him were granted bail in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this week.
On Tuesday, 27-year-old Justin Joseph Marin, 26-year-old, Lauren David Akrivopules, and his brother 23-year-old Laureth Ariel Akrivopules, were arraigned in court on a single count of theft.
The trio was charged with stealing a bag of groceries from a man exiting DK Supermarket in Belize City on April 30, taking from him four Mine beers valued at $10.00; 2 Rebel rum valued at $5.50; two packs of chicken cuts valued $18.00 and $5.00 in change, all to a total of $38.50.
In court, Marin originally pleaded guilty while his other two co-accused pleaded not guilty; however, he did not agree with the facts that were presented to him, so he entered a plea of not guilty.
They were all granted bail in the sum of $500 plus one surety of the same which then managed to meet. They are due back in court on July 5.
