By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Travelers to the U.S. will soon no longer have to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccine status when arriving.
The BBC reports that the requirement will be lifted on May 11when the U.S. lifts the COVID-19 public health emergency.
The lifted restrictions will apply to non-US travelers entering via land ports of entry.
The White House noted “we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary”.
In April, U.S. President Joe Biden signed a bill ending the COVID-19 national emergency.
