International News: United States to end COVID-19 vaccine air travel requirements

Posted: Thursday, May 4, 2023. 10:41 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Travelers to the U.S. will soon no longer have to show proof of their COVID-19 vaccine status when arriving.

The BBC reports that the requirement will be lifted on May 11when the U.S. lifts the COVID-19 public health emergency.

The lifted restrictions will apply to non-US travelers entering via land ports of entry.

The White House noted “we are now in a different phase of our response when these measures are no longer necessary”.

In April, U.S. President Joe Biden signed a bill ending the COVID-19 national emergency.
