Belize Beach Soccer National Team leaves for the Bahamas on Friday to compete in 2023 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize Beach Football Team is traveling to Nassau, Bahamas, on Friday to compete in the 2023 Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship in the Bahamas. The team will overnight in Miami and will arrive in Nassau on Saturday.

The Concacaf tournament kicks off on Monday, May 8.

The Football Federation of Belize held a ceremony on Thursday to present the Belize Men’s National Beach Soccer Team.

Belize are competing in Group B at the Malcolm Beach Soccer Facility against Mexico, the Bahamas, and Guatemala.

Belize’s first game will be against Mexico on Monday, May 8, at 4:00 pm. Then, on Tuesday, May 9, the National Beach Soccer Team will measure up against hosts, the Bahamas at 5:30 pm, and on Wednesday, May 10, they play their final group game against Guatemala at 4:00 pm.

The top two and the two best third places from each group qualify for the quarterfinals, which will be followed by the semifinals, the third-place match, and the Final. The two finalists advance to the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

El Salvador won the last edition defeating the United States 6-4 in the Final in Costa Rica in 2021. That was El Salvador’s second Concacaf Championship. Prior to that they had won the title in 2009.

Group B: Mexico, Bahamas, Guatemala, Belize

Group C: United States, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic
