The drill involved simulated missile attacks on buildings and public transportation, Reuters report.

There continues to be heightened tensions between Taiwan and China since China views Taiwan as its territory and has long vowed to “reunify” the self-governing democratic island.

The simulation was part of an annual Minan civil defence drill that is conducted throughout Taiwan to raise readiness for a military attack by China or other emergencies like natural disasters.
