Father Tim Thompson, Jesuit preacher in Belize for over 50 years, dies in the US

By Benjamin Flowers: Jesuit preacher in Belize, Father Tim Thompson, who has been in Belize for over 50 years has died following an extended battle with cancer.

The report of his passing was issued earlier today. He was reportedly in the United States receiving treatment at the time of his death.

A notice to parishioners sent out by Jesuit Superior in Belize Fr. Brian Christopher notes that he had almost died from cancer eight years ago, but managed to survive that bout with cancer.

Apart from his work in the clergy, Thompson was also known in education circles, having served as the President of St. John’s College.
