Senior citizen and family robbed this morning

By Aaron Humes: Early this morning in Belize City, a family of Evergreen Street was robbed in a home invasion at their premises.

According to police, 63-year-old Sonia Dawson was sleeping along with her family when she was awakened at knifepoint by a dark-skinned man who was holding her mouth.

The burglar demanded money and she handed over her black purse containing $5,000 cash, three gold rings, and an Atlantic Bank debit card. The robber then fled the scene.

Investigators determined that the burglar gained access to the house by removing the deadbolt lock from the front door. Police continue their investigations.
