Accused PIV gang affiliate remanded to prison

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 23-year-old Belize City resident has been remanded to prison on a charge of gang affiliation.

Phosaun Lewis appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court, charged with a single count of “being the member of a gang,” specifically the Peace In the Village (PIV) gang.

Lewis pleaded not guilty to the charge but under the Laws of Belize, bail was denied to him in the first instance and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July 3.
