International News: Gunman kills 8 people in mall in Texas

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Saturday, a gunman entered Allen Premium Outlets mall in Texas and opened fire killing 8 people including children.

According to the BBC, hundreds of people had to be evacuated from the shopping mall as he opened fire indiscriminately.

An officer that was nearby killed the gunman after he heard the shots and responded.

On Sunday, President Joe Biden once again called for stricter gun controls.

He said that the attacker used an AR-15 style weapon and killed innocent people in “the latest act of gun violence to devastate our nation”.

“Such an attack is too shocking to be so familiar,” he added.

Authorities say the victims ages range from 5 to 51 years old.

Witnesses say that the attacker was dressed in full black and wore combat gear.
