By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Texas deployed members of the Tactical Border Force, a unit from the National Guard that will patrol “hot spots” along the U.S.-Mexico border.
This is as U.S. officials prepare for the expiration of Title 42 on May 11.
According to Reuters, the announcement was made by Governor Greg Abbott.
“They will be deployed to hot spots along the border to intercept to repel and to turn back migrants who are trying to enter Texas illegally,” Abbott stated.
Last December, the National Guard was deployed in areas near El Paso and suppressed a surge in illegal migrant crossings at Brownsville.
The Governor noted that the elite National Guard team will focus on identifying crossing points and shutting them down.
