Belize District man survives shooting as five persons detained

By Aaron Humes: One James Perry was the target of gunmen in the Belize River Valley Tuesday night, according to police.

Officers intercepted a grey Chevy Equinox leaving St. Paul’s Bank, Belize District shortly after eight, they headed toward Burrell Boom where it turned into a residence. The five men detained are from Burrell Boom, Lords’ Bank, and Belize City, while a sixth person is being sought.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are unknown, but Perry was rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, treated, and released.

Police investigations are underway.
