Youth charged in connection with double chopping in Unitedville

By Breaking Belize News: Police have arrested a youth in connection with a double-copping incident that occurred in Unitedville Village, Cayo District, last month.

Today, police formally arrested and charged 19-year-old Eric Gongora for the crime of “Aiding and Abetting To Commit Grievous Harm”.

Gongora joins 27-year-old Nigel Villanueva, who was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder, Dangerous Harm, Grievous Harm, and Aggravated Assault on Saturday, May 6.

Brothers Jody and Jerry Ingram were attacked by several men on the night of April 30, beaten and chopped with machetes. The brothers were taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and later released.
