Belize Weather: Mostly fair weather heading to weekend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: According to the National Meteorological Service, mainly fair and warm conditions prevail. Skies will be cloudy at times today and tonight with isolated showers if any over most of the country. However, isolated thunderstorms will develop over inland areas this afternoon and isolated showers and thunderstorms over southern Belize tonight.

High temperatures reach 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 97 degrees over inland areas and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures will be 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect and residents especially of inland areas are advised to stay hydrated and avoid afternoon outdoor activity.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots, becoming easterly at 10 to 20 knots with higher gusts. Sea state starts moderate, becoming moderate to rough. A small craft caution will likely go into effect tonight for locally rough seas and occasional gusty winds.

Tides will be low at 9:02 this morning and 10:55 this evening and high at 3:16 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:16 this evening and rises at 5:21 Saturday morning.

Weather remains generally fair with isolated showers developing on Saturday if any and isolated thunderstorms inland on Saturday afternoon and over the south Saturday night.
