Love triangle allegedly turns violent, three people charged with different offenses

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City woman is out on bail after an altercation between her, the father of her child and the man’s new girlfriend allegedly turned violent.

On Thursday, 24-year-old Sharon Lewis was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court in the presence of her attorney Sharon Pitts-Robateu, on a single count of wounding. She pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 plus one surety of the same, which she met.

She is due back in court on July 5.

Lewis is accused of hitting 23-year-old Rihanna Robinson in the head several times with a pint bottle. Lewis is the third person to be charged in connection with the same incident which occurred on April 24, along with Robinson who was charged two weeks ago with damage to property, and 25-year-old Keyron Evans.

Evans, who was also charged two weeks ago with wounding Robinson, is reportedly Robinson’s boyfriend as well as the father of Lewis’s child.
