Shooting in Belize City leaves man in critical condition

By Aaron Humes: Belize City man Sheldon Thomas has been hospitalized with gunshot injuries following an incident on Friday night. He is listed in a critical condition.

Thomas and one Selvin Garcia were hanging out around 10 p.m. when three men approached and started firing shots in their direction. Thomas was hit to the left lower abdomen and left thigh while Garcia was apparently unhurt.

Thomas was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and possible surgery. Police investigations continue.
