Houston Belize United play in semifinals of Chetumal Baseball 2nd Division Championship on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Houston Belize United are playing in the semifinals of the Quintana Roo Second Division ‘Pedro Sherif Casanova’ Baseball League against top-seeded Broncos at midday on Sunday.

Pitcher Anthony Smith said the match will be streamed live by Chetumal media outlet J. J. Pardo Sports on Facebook.

Ranked fourth in the regular season, Houston Belize United (7-5) have an enormous task taking on the number one team Broncos of Calderitas (10-2), but said they are ready. The game bats off at 12:00 noon (1:00 pm Chetumal time) at Calderitas.

In the other semifinal game, at 9:00 am, the third-place Lobos (Wolves) of Calderitas (7-5) are battling the second-seeded Halcones (Falcons) de Chetumal (10-2).

The teams are playing in best-of-three series to qualify for the Finals.
