Will ‘Sista B’ be at upcoming House Meeting?

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The House of Representatives is scheduled to meet this week, and a major question hanging over the meeting is “Will Queen Square area Representative Denise ‘Sista B’ Barrow be in attendance?”

Barrow has missed every house meeting since winning her seat in the 2020 General Elections and her repeated absences have been the subject of criticism both from the Government side and her own United Democratic Party (UDP) when it was under the leadership of former Party Leader Patrick Faber.

Notably, despite consistently missing meetings of the House including the entirety of the National Budget Debate held on Wednesday, March 22, Thursday, March 23, and Friday, March 24, Barrow has operated in accordance with the Standing Orders of the House and informed the Speaker with adequate notice, in writing when she intends to miss a meeting.

This adherence to the process has kept her from reprimand but also kept the residents of Queen Square from having a voice in the National Assembly.
