By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Executive Director of the Belize Audubon Society, Amanda Acosta participated in a Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Programme II (BIOPAMA) and BEST 2.0 Knowledge Sharing Session in Nairobi, Kenya from May 2 to May 6, 2023.

Acosta indicated that the session was an opportunity to promote learning and knowledge sharing between grantees from both the BEST 2.0 initiative (Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Territories of European overseas) and the Biodiversity and Protected Areas Management Programme II (BIOPAMA II).

Participants were selected from top performing projects.

Over the course of the week, the group was introduced to PANORAMA, a mechanism to share solutions based on demonstrated results, and good practices.

Sharing sessions focused on lessons learnt for grants’ implementation and after-action review.

During the session, the participants celebrated and recognized the grantees’ achievement.

BEST 2.0 and BIOPAMA are funded by the European Union and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, and implemented by IUCN in Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific countries.
