“Courageous” officer commended as police hunt attackers of Kenroy Elijio

By Aaron Humes: The Police Department has commended one of their own for stopping further carnage on Victoria Street over the weekend.

Kenroy Elijio of Lucky Strike was injured to the elbow after two gunmen visited the area on Saturday night intending to shoot someone.

The unnamed officer was in his family yard when he heard the commotion and began returning fire at the suspects, who managed to escape, although police say one suspect is now in custody.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero said the “courageous” officer “would be looked after.”
