By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 12, 2023, the Ministry of Rural Transformation handed over tanks, PVC pipes, and other supplies to several villages in the Toledo District.
Through the WASH program, the Ministry collaborated with UNICEF Belize to provide water tanks and chlorine tablets to rural schools and communities in order to promote proper hygiene and clean and safe water.
The PVC pipes will be used for water expansion in the villages of Aguacate, Santa Teresa, and San Marcos.
In addition, the Ministry donated PVC pipes in the villages of Pueblo Viejo and San Jose.
Those PVC pipes will be used to help the water boards expand their water supply so that residents can have access to clean water.
