International News: Prince Harry and Meghan involved in ‘near catastrophic’ paparazzi car chase in New York

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan were reportedly involved in a “near catastrophic” car chase last night in New York, CNN reports.

Harry and Meghan were attending the Women of Vision Awards and were traveling with Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother when they were followed by a “swarm” of paparazzi after leaving.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess said that the altercation lasted 2 hours and involved multiple traffic violations.

“Last night, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms. Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car chase at the hands of a ring of highly aggressive paparazzi,” the spokesperson said.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” they added.

In addition, the Duke and Duchess urged the media not to publish photographs from the incident.

“Dissemination of these images, given the ways in which they were obtained, encourages a highly intrusive practice that is dangerous to all in involved,” they said.

The car chase reportedly involved about 6 blacked-out vehicles with unidentified people driving recklessly and endangering the convoy and everyone around them.
