By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Mexican officials confirmed that 49 migrants that were reportedly kidnapped from a bus in San Luis Potosi have been rescued.
According to Reuters, the migrants from Honduras, Haiti, Venezuela, El Salvador, Brazil and Cuba were found in several groups in San Luis Potosi and Nuevo Leon.
Mexican armed forces were involved in the search and continue to seek the 2 missing bus drivers.
The migrants told authorities that members of a known organized crime group had boarded the bus when it stopped at a gas station.
The person demanded a payment of 40,000 pesos ($2,250) from the bus owner and kidnapped the migrants.
The incident is the latest report of mass kidnapping in Mexico.
