Ministry of Agriculture to meet with importers and suppliers to discuss ways to reduce cost of major food items

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 17, 2023, the cabinet met at its regular session and among the issues discussed was inflation and the rising cost of living.

The Cabinet has requested that the Minister of Agriculture convenes a meeting with importers and suppliers to discuss ways to reduce the cost of major food items as well as inputs used to produce locally made food products.

In addition, the Minister of Agriculture was advised to propose recommendations to reduce the cost of living for Cabinet’s consideration.
