Former Education CEO, Dr. Carol Babb publishes ‘Jacito Opens an Account at HRCU’

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 17, 2023, Holy Redeemer Credit Union (HRCU) celebrated its 79th anniversary.

In celebration of their anniversary, former Chief Education Officer, Dr. Carol Babb published a book geared toward teaching financial literacy.

The book, “Jacito Opens an Account at HRCU” is designed for children and youths.

During an interview with News 5, Dr. Babb said that it had been her dream after she learned the importance of financial literacy, to share that with every child and person in Belize.

“If we truly want to reduce poverty and financial dependence, then we need to teach people to save regularly, to borrow wisely and pay back promptly,” Dr. Babb stated.
