Former police officer Darrell “Tutsi” Usher intervenes to stop attempted murder of woman by boyfriend

By Aaron Humes: It is ‘once a cop, always a cop’ in the case of Darrel “Tutsi” Usher, who is being credited for bravely intervening to stop an attempted murder of a woman in broad daylight on Friday.

The victim has been identified as one Alondra Aguilar, who as we reported yesterday was stabbed and had her throat slashed at the hands of the attacker, believed to be her boyfriend/partner, who was quickly apprehended and held for police. The incident happened early yesterday morning near their home at Mile 2, George Price Highway, Belize City.

Usher, a licensed gun owner, stepped in and stopped the attack and ensured Aguilar was quickly transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in time for medical attention.

The alleged attacker has been detained by police as confirmed by Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa on Friday morning.
