Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise completes Annual General Meeting in Hopkins

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) said it successfully completed its two-day Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Sandy Beach Women’s Co-operative in Hopkins in the Stann Creek District on Friday.

“The first day focused on presentations that showcased the achievements, challenges and future plans from the various units in the Agriculture and Cooperative Departments,” MAFSE said.

“The second day focused on presentations from various organizations and Partners in Development on the collaboration and the important role they play in the Agriculture Sector.”

MAFSE said they closed with panel discussions that included the participation of financial institutions, agriculture enterprises and environmental NGOs.

“The recommendations provided will serve as a guide to work on the weaknesses and chart a way forward for the Ministry of Agriculture,” MAFSE said.

The Agriculture Ministry said the way forward should ensure greater efficiency and effectiveness in the structure and institutional management systems of the Agriculture and Food Sector in Belize.

During the AGM, MAFSE also gave a number of its officers certificates of recognition for outstanding performances.
