European Union and Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy engages Belizeans in Lait up Belize!

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 20, 2023, the Ministry of Public Utilities, Energy, Logistics and E-Governance and the European Union (EU) in Belize are engaging Belizeans in their Lait Up Belize project.

The first EU in the Park was held on Saturday at the Digi Park in Belize City.

They are sharing more information about the sustainable and renewable energy possibilities in Belize, and the number of environmental benefits energy efficiency delivers.

In addition, the Ministry and the EU are promoting LED lightbulbs, a great substitute for incandescent bulbs since LED lightbulbs use 90% less energy, last longer, and offer high-quality light output.

Under the initiative, 9,000 energy-efficient bulbs will be distributed countrywide in exchange for incandescent and fluorescent bulbs to support Sustainable Energy Transition objectives in Belize.

The drive will be rolled out countrywide.
