By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday evening, the Belmopan City Council held a candlelight vigil in memory of Belmopan resident, Imari Galvez.
Nineteen-year-old Imari Galvez was brutally murdered and her family believes that someone she trusted lured her to her death.
Councilor Hope Amadi was the director of ceremonies and the opening prayer was delivered by Pastor Minelvia Santos of the Full Gospel Church of God Belmopan.
Belmopan Mayor, Sharon Palacio extended sympathies to the family and friends of Imari.
Praise and worship was held by the Church of the Nazarene worship team.
Members of the Belmopan Belize Youth Movement and Area Representative, Oscar Mira joined the vigil in memory of Imari and called for justice.
Officer commanding the Belmopan police formation, Martha Rhys also extended condolences to Imari’s family and friends.
