Cayo man fined for insulting female police officer

By Aaron Humes: An Esperanza Village, Cayo District man’s foul mouth will cost him $300 for insulting a woman female corporal.

After crudely accusing the officer who was trying to get him to leave a Chinese shop on Cemetery Road of giving away sexual favours for her post and calling her the “b” word, 66-year-old Anthony Peters was charged with using insulting words. Police had been called to warn him to leave after allegedly harassing store patrons on Saturday at Sky Shop on Cemetery Road.

In court Peters pleaded guilty and asked for leniency, saying he was not in good health.

He was handed a fine of $300 and five dollars cost of court due by August 2, in default two months behind bars.
