Male cop charged with unlawful sexual assault of female constable

By Aaron Humes: Police Constable 37-year-old Bregilio Ack of Mahogany Heights, Belize District, avoided media cameras today as he appeared in the Magistrate’s Court, charged with unlawful sexual assault of a female colleague.

Ack is accused of indecently fondling a female officer with whom he was working in March of this year and was read a single charge of unlawful sexual assault this evening before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford.

The woman officer alleged that while they were on duty just after midnight on March 20, Constable Ack approached her as she was sitting in the booth and, without her consent, placed his hands on both of her legs, making her uncomfortable.

About three hours later, the accused constable approached her again and this time allegedly squeezed her breasts and started to kiss her neck, refusing to stop when she asked him to. She reported the matter and requested court action.

Ack pleaded not guilty and was offered bail with no objections of $3,000 and surety. He is ordered not to interfere with the complainant or her relatives or other prosecution witnesses and remain at least 100 feet from the complainant personally, otherwise, bail would be revoked.

Ack next returns to court on July 10.
