By Aaron Humes: After being charged by police, construction worker Wilmer Rivera, 31, of Belize City, was brought to Magistrate’s Court today on charges of attempted murder and use of deadly means of harm on former partner Jasmine Aguilar.
Aguilar remains hospitalized after being slashed in the throat and stabbed in the abdomen while waiting for a taxi near her home on the George Price Highway on Friday last.
Before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford, no plea was taken and bail was denied.
According to Police, Aguilar has previously made a report of domestic abuse against Rivera. She was saved by bystanders including a former police officer.
Rivera returns to court on July 28.
