Belize Weather: Heat alert as temperatures rise again

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Fair weather and hot temperatures continue according to the National Meteorological Service. It will be sunny with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy tonight. Showers will be isolated, along with isolated thunderstorms developing over inland areas this afternoon or over northern areas tonight.

High temperatures this afternoon peak near 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 98 degrees in inland areas and 87 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 72 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert remains in effect. Residents, especially of inland areas, should stay hydrated and avoid as much outdoor activity as possible during the afternoon.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to ten knots; sea swells will be slight.

Tides are low as of 6:17 this morning. High tide occurs at 12:27 this afternoon, followed by a low tide at 8:28 this evening. The sun sets at 6:20 this evening and rises at 5:18 Thursday morning.

Similar weather conditions can be expected on Thursday and Thursday night.
