By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended gratitude to the Government and people of Belize for their support and call for Taiwan’s participation as an observer at the World Health Assembly.
The Taiwan Embassy in Belize thanked Minister of Health and Wellness, Kevin Bernard for calling for inclusion of Taiwan as an observer in the 76th World Health Assembly.
“Belize’s support greatly boosted Taiwan’s bid to participate in the WHA. We would like to express our profound gratitude to the Government of Belize and will continue to work closely together to advance the welfare of Belizean people. A friend in need is a friend indeed,” the Taiwan Embassy said.
“Taiwan has been a #ForceForGood in the world, and we believe we will be able to bring a lot to the table if we can participate in the WHO and WHA,” Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The World Health Assembly in Geneva decided not to extend Taiwan an invitation to the event after China urged members to reject Taiwan’s inclusion.
The event is being held from May 21-30, 2023 in Geneva.
