Belize Network of NGO’s host 2023 Carbon Symposium

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On May 25, 2023, the Belize Network of NGO’s hosted the 2023 Carbon Symposium.

The Carbon Symposium brought together governmental and non-governmental stakeholders to discuss key topics such as Integrating Natural Climate Solutions and the development of private carbon projects.

Members of the Belize Audubon Society (BAS), Protected Areas Director Shane Young and Chang-Hong Tsao (Kevin), Terrestrial Biodiversity Research and Monitoring Officer, represented the BAS at the informative gathering.

The symposium provided a valuable platform for participants to gain insights into Climate Change, Carbon Markets, and the intricate aspects of emissions reductions and restoration/removals.

“Shane and Kevin had the opportunity to engage with industry peers, exchange ideas, and explore innovative solutions aimed at addressing the pressing challenges associated with Climate Change,” the BAS noted.

“We would like to express our gratitude to the Belize Network of NGO’s for organizing this enlightening symposium, facilitating knowledge-sharing among diverse stakeholders,” the BAS added.

The Belize Audubon Society says that the organization remains steadfast in their commitment to environmental conservation.
