By Breaking Belize News Staff: Expect hot temperatures and somewhat unstable weather today according to the National Meteorological Service. Skies will be mostly sunny today and partly cloudy tonight with isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms developing inland this afternoon and over the north tonight.
High temperatures will reach 90 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 99 degrees in inland areas and 86 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect and in inland areas residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid too much outdoor activity.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to ten knots and sea state slight.
Tides will be low at 7:08 this morning and 9:22 this evening and high at 1:18 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:21 this evening and rises at 5:18 Friday morning.
The extended outlook through Friday includes warm temperatures and a few afternoon and evening thunderstorms inland and in the north, with isolated showers elsewhere.
