By Aaron Humes: For an act that took place when he was a teenager and his victim was just ten years old, a now-23-year-old man was sentenced to two years probation.
The accused pleaded guilty to what is officially termed an “unnatural crime” and was treated as a minor since he was only 16 when he admitted to perpetrating it, in 2016.
High Court Justice Antoinette Moore heard the case and set the date of probation from March 2, 2023, to 2025.
During this time, he is to pay compensation of $1,200 due by the end of 2023; not contact or interfere with his victim, and avoid being charged with other criminal offenses.
At the start of trial following his guilty plea, the now-convicted 23-year-old apologized to the victim and the court for his actions.
