President of the University of Belize Dr. Vincent Palacio receives visit from East Carolina University professor

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Dr. Vincent Palacio, President of the University of Belize (UB), welcomed Professor Seodial Frank Deena, Ph.D., from the Thomas Harriot College of Arts and Sciences at East Carolina University (ECU), to discuss the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions.

Deena is a professor of Global Culture, Literature and Criticism.

The UB/ECU partnership has facilitated various academic and cultural exchanges, such as summer and semester study abroad programs, Transnational Education programs, and research opportunities for both Belizean and American students.

According to UB, one of the recent success stories of this partnership is Aaren Guzman, who graduated with a Master of Arts in Technical Writing/English Studies from ECU in 2023. Guzman is now working as a technical writer for a software company in North Carolina.
