Belize to play Costa Rica today in U21 Women NORCECA Pan Am Volleyball Cup

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize will play against Costa Rica today Saturday in the Classification 5-8 ranking games in the U21 Women’s NORCECA Pan American Volleyball Cup in Nogales, Mexico. Belize’s game will be at 4:00 pm (5:00 pm Bze Time).

The other Classification game between Guatemala and Puerto Rico starts at 2:00 pm (3:00 pm Bze Time).

In the quarterfinals on Friday, Cuba beat Costa Rica 3-0 (25-20, 29-27, 31-29) and the Dominican Republic eliminated Puerto Rico 3-1 (25-17, 28-26, 18-25, 25-19.

In the semifinals today, the United States play Cuba at 6:00 pm (7:00 pm Bze Time) and Mexico take on the Dominican Republic at 8:00 pm (9:00 pm Bze Time).

Belize lost their final game in Group A of the U21 Women’s NORCECA Pan American Volleyball Cup to Mexico in straight sets 11-25, 11-25, 15-25 on Friday. Before that the Belize National Team had fallen 3-0 to both Cuba and Puerto Rico. Belize fell to Cuba in straight sets 14-25, 12-25, 18-25 on Wednesday and 12-25, 18-25, 13-25 to Puerto Rico on Thursday.

Belize have one more game on Saturday against one of the quarterfinals losers in the Classification 5-8 ranking games. Belize’s game will be at 4:00 pm (5:00 pm Bze Time).

The final ranking games, including the Final, will be played on Sunday. If Belize beat Costa Rica, our young ladies will play for 5^th place but if we lose, then we’ll play for 7^th place.
