By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts sunny skies today with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers will be isolated but expect inland afternoon thunderstorms to develop especially over the Maya Mountains.
High temperatures peak at 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast, 98 degrees over inland areas and 87 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 81 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect and residents of inland areas are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible in the afternoon.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at five to ten knots with sea conditions slight.
Tides will be low at 9:47 this morning and 11:01 this evening and high at 3:24 this afternoon. The sun sets at 6:22 this evening and rise at 5:17 Sunday morning.
On Sunday, fair and warm weather prevails with isolated showers or isolated thunderstorms to develop mainly in the interior in the afternoon.
