Ministry of Agriculture, Taiwan Technical Mission, and OIRSA host sheep and honey traceability system workshop

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Taiwan Technical Mission, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) and the International Regional Organization of Plant and Animal Health (OIRSA) held a “Sheep and Honey Traceability System Training Workshop” in Belmopan from May 23 to 25, 2023.

The aim of the three-day workshop is to train the Ministry of Agriculture’s extension officers, technicians from the Belize Agriculture Health Authority (BAHA) and the Belize Livestock Producers Association (BLPA) in operating the TRAZAR-AGRO system developed by OIRSA.

The participants will be able to assist in collecting data and promoting the importance of a traceability system to farmers in their respective districts.

“The Embassy and Taiwan Technical Mission in Belize are committed to working closely with the MAFSE to strengthen the sheep and goat industry in Belize and to advance the welfare of Belizean people,” the Taiwan Embassy in Belize said.
